COPENHAGEN CLUB
The smell of cheap cologne is all over the place
You fake a smile as the spot hits your face
And you look out in the room
They’re playing an old tape with Boney M
You wonder what became of them
Well they must be old by now
In the Copenhagen Club
Conversations stop as you walk on stage
Someone shouts his mother’s just about your age
And that makes them laugh
But you know a line for every cue you hear
You say schoolboys are not allowed in here
And then they laugh again
In the Copenhagen Club
It’s five a.m. you’ve done your last show
The bouncer says it’s time to go
And he hands you your coat
You step out in the morninglight
There’s a whole long day to the next long night
And then you will be back
In the Copenhagen Club
